Windmill Community Gardens is a food growing project running since 2004. We work with local people to build a stronger, healthier, more active community – we run activities for all ages and abilities and all are welcome to visit so please come along to find out more.
We have two sites which we transformed from derelict land. Our first site is the community garden which consists of community growing, orchard, poly tunnel, greenwood working area, compost loo, kitchen, wildlife habitats, and much more.
Our second site is a market garden which employs organic methods of growing vegetables which we sell via our veg box scheme and to local restaurants. To find out more and to join our vegetable box scheme then please have a look at the veg box section of our website or contact us on: firstname.lastname@example.org

Vision Values and Mission for the Windmill Community Gardens
Windmill Community Gardens held a workshop session to agree on our vision, values and mission statements. A group that included volunteers, committee members, staff and senior management produced the following statements that summarise our purpose, what we want to see come about from the community gardens and what we do to achieve this.
Our vision is for community growing in the heart of Thanet.
The values we believe in are: –
• Respect for one another
• Equality of opportunity
• The importance of learning
• Being community led
• Being supportive
• Being inclusive
• Environmental sustainability
Our mission is to deliver a variety of inclusive outdoor opportunities for people to come together to make a difference for themselves, others and for the environment.
Here is a detailed sketch of our Community Gardens, this along with our Market garden is forever changing and updating.
